Maid Brigade Sponsors $1.5 Million Franchise Giveaway
Canton, Ohio (July 4, 2009) Ray Toombs, decorated U.S. military veteran and co-owner of the Akron/Canton Maid Brigade franchise has been selected as one of four judges for the recently launched contest. The Maid Brigade Veterans Franchise Giveaway is a contest that will award more than $1.5 million in business ownership opportunities to 100+ veterans, creating more than 1,000 jobs nationwide.
“When we started thinking about the Maid Brigade Veteran Franchise Giveaway, we immediately thought of the very first veteran to invest in a Maid Brigade franchise using the VetFran program. Ray’s a decorated war veteran and his dedication to service throughout his military career fits well with the Maid Brigade business model and has positively contributed to the success of his franchise. We are proud to have him in the Maid Brigade family.”
“I’m honored to be selected to participate in a competition designed to create opportunities for veterans,” said Ray. “Maid Brigade is the perfect match for our experience and interests. We enjoy our work so much, and I would recommend Maid Brigade as a franchise opportunity to anyone interested in owning their own business, especially to veterans who are looking for their next careers. Maid Brigade makes the most of a military background. It’s a great fit.”
The contest comes at a time when America’s economy is down, but patriotism is high. Maid Brigade, the award-winning residential cleaning service and longtime supporter of the military, is acting on both fronts by offering new careers to veterans, a group it considers worthy, qualified, and proven as franchise owners. Currently, 10 percent of Maid Brigade owners are veterans; others in the network come from a wide range of careers.
The contest launches on Independence Day, July 4, 2009 and concludes on Veterans Day, November 11, 2009. To apply for the giveaway, veterans must visit http://www.maidbrigadegiveaway.com to complete the entry form and to submit a short essay by September 30, 2009 on how their military responsibilities would translate to successful Maid Brigade franchise ownership.
Maid Brigade’s four-member panel of judges, including Ray, also consists of U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Michael H. Miller; Ted Daywalt, military veteran and President of VetJobs, the leading military-related job board on the Internet and endorsed by The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of America, the Naval Reserve Association and the Veterans of Modern Warfare; and Maid Brigade Chairman and Founder Don Hay. Judges will meet in early November to review the finalists and select a winner.
Detailed Veterans Franchise Giveaway rules are available at http://www.maidbrigade.com/giveaway. Veteran applications are due by September 30, 2009.
