Hudson Marketing Firm Invited to Participate as Judge in National DECA Competition
HUDSON, OHIO (January 28, 2010) – Chris Brown of Marketing Resources & Results, a strategic marketing firm in Hudson, Ohio, will be judging the annual DECA District Competition for Northeast Ohio high school students held at Kent State University. DECA is a channel for students to compete against their peers for recognition of skills necessary in the field of marketing.
“Participants compete in written and role-playing events, which simulate actual business situations,” explained Chris Brown, president of the marketing firm. “It’s great to be a part of the judging process because it helps these students actually gain experience of practical, realistic situations encountered on the job.”
The students are judged by business people in their specific occupational area. Brown will be judging the “Buying and Merchandising Team” Decision Making Event. In her role as an executive for the mock business, she will judge the participants on communication, analytical, and production skills as well as teamwork, priorities and time management, and economic competencies. The district competition will take place on February 2, 2010 in the Student Center at Kent State University.
