Tune into Harmony of Singing Bowls

February 22, 2012

FAIRLAWN, OHIO (February 22, 2012) — Most people know that if you rub your finger around the rim of a crystal glass you will hear a high pitched tone. The crystal sings. Since ancient times, mystics have used sounds from crystal gem bowls to create harmonic tones for chanting, prayer, yoga, meditation and other spiritual practices.

On March 2, Cleveland artist Kathleen Calby brings her collection of gem crystal singing bowls and ancient Himalayan bowls to The New Beginnings Counseling Center in Fairlawn to present a lecture, meditation and concert. Ms. Calby, who has worked with singing bowls for thirteen years, will talk about the history of the bowls, the effects that the sound has on brain wave states and the physics of sound and resonance. She will then present a concert and meditation of singing bowls. She calls the experience a “musical massage” which can transport listeners to new states of awareness and an experience of one’s Higher Self.

The lecture and concert will be from 6:30 to 9:00 Friday evening. Tickets are $25 if reserved by Feb. 29 and $30 at the door. Light refreshments will be served and Ms. Calby’s CDs will be available for purchase. Reservations can be made by calling Holistic Psychologist and host, Kathleen Pichola at 330-696-2490 or e-mailing Dr. Pichola at kapichola@yahoo.com. Additional information about Ms. Calby can be found on her website www.re-sounding joy.com. This unique program promises to relax one’s body and uplift one’s Spirit.
